ToneFarmer
... is a melodic modern pop trio fronted by guitarist/ vocalist, Rob Hamrick, also featuring drummer/vocalist, John Miracle and bassist/ vocalist, Chris Mundy. Formed in the summer of 2000, the group's immediate focus was the writing and recording of their debut CD Recreation. The disc's rhythm tracks were engineered at Cincinnati's Ultrasuede Studios by former Afghan Whigs bassist, John Curley, and all other tracks were completed by the band at their home studio.
Tonefarmer's music has been described as possessing a mild ambient flavor recalling the folkish, melodic feel of the solo work of ex-Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft or the U.K. group Coldplay. Still other listeners have sensed a more seasoned quality to the group's sound, evocative of Neil Young, Brian Eno, or R.E.M. The emotive and memorable vocal melodies on Recreation will stay with you, beckoning future spins in your CD player. Tonefarmer's instrumentation, while often uncomplicated, is skillfully crafted, textured and inventive, providing the listener with new layers of discovery with each listen.
